Mission
CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Footwear Developer Color & Materials (C&M), supports the development and execution of color and material solutions for Lacoste footwear, ensuring that design intent is translated into high-quality, production-ready products.
This role focuses on material execution, color accuracy, proto management, supplier coordination and quality control, while building a strong foundation in footwear development processes.
MAIN REPONSIBILITIES
1. Color & Material Development Support
Support the development of colors and materials from design brief through final approval.
Assist in translating Color & Material design intent into development solutions aligned with cost, quality and manufacturability.
Track and manage lab dips, color approvals, material submissions and sample feedback.
Support consistency of color accuracy and material quality across prototypes and production samples.
2. Sample & Prototype Management
Coordinate material sample requests, deliveries and review timelines with internal teams and suppliers.
Maintain accurate records of sample status, revisions and approvals.
Support internal evaluations and wear tests where applicable.
Ensure samples meet design, development and quality standards.
3. Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Communicate with material suppliers and factories
Support alignment between Design, Development, Materials, product Merch and Sourcing.
Prepare clear documentation and follow-ups to ensure smooth information flow.
Escalate risks or issues proactively to senior team members.
4. Process, Data & Tools
Maintain accurate development files, BOMs, color standards and material information.
Update systems and trackers to ensure data accuracy and traceability.
Support continuous improvement of Color & Material development tools and workflows.
Learn and apply brand standards, testing requirements and compliance guidelines.
5. Learning, Growth & Team Contribution
Build foundational knowledge of footwear construction, colors, materials and manufacturing processes.
Actively seek feedback and coaching from senior developers.
Stay curious about materials innovation, sustainability and industry best practices.
Contribute positively to a collaborative, solution-oriented team culture.
Profil
Education or first experience in footwear, product development, materials or related fields.
Basic understanding of footwear materials and color processes.
Interest in manufacturing, quality and execution.
Familiarity with development documentation and sample workflows.
Comfortable with Microsoft Excel / Office.
Ability to learn PLM systems and internal development tools.
Basic knowledge of Adobe tools is a plus.
Education or first experience in footwear, product development, materials or related fields.
Basic understanding of footwear materials and color processes.
Interest in manufacturing, quality and execution.
Familiarity with development documentation and sample workflows.
